Terms of Service — PassGen

Last updated: April 2026

Acceptance of Terms

By using PassGen ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree, please discontinue use.

Description of Service

PassGen provides free, browser-based password generation and security analysis tools. All tools run locally in your browser using JavaScript and the Web Crypto API.

No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While we use industry-standard cryptographic methods (Web Crypto API, CSPRNG), we make no guarantees about the absolute security of generated passwords or the accuracy of analysis results.

Use at Your Own Risk

You are solely responsible for:

  • How you use, store, and manage passwords generated by this tool
  • Maintaining the security of your accounts and devices
  • Evaluating whether our tools meet your specific security requirements

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to compromise, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service
  • Scrape or systematically download content from the Service for commercial purposes
  • Misrepresent the Service or claim affiliation where none exists

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall PassGen or its contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages resulting from compromised passwords, data breaches, or security incidents.

Intellectual Property

The PassGen name, logo, and design are our intellectual property. The underlying tool logic and code may be released under an open-source license — check our repository for specifics.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
